Follow these steps to create a simple design in Adobe Illustrator. This guide provides detailed instructions to help you replicate the process step-by-step. Make sure to observe and follow the sample output.

Step 1: Start a New Project

1. Open Adobe Illustrator.

2. Create a New Project:

  • Go to File > New.

  • Select the Letter preset.

Step 2: Place a Reference Image

1. Import Reference Image:

  • Go to File > Place.

  • Navigate to the Project Files folder.

  • Select the file named Your First Drawings in Illustrator.

  • Click Place.

  • Click and drag on the artboard to place the image.

2. Convert to Template:

  • Delete the placed image.

  • Go to File > Place again.

  • Select the same file, but this time, check the Template option before placing.

  • This places the image on a new layer, lowers its opacity, and locks the layer.

Step 3: Create Basic Shapes

1. Ellipse (Circle):

  • Select the Ellipse Tool from the toolbar (shortcut: L).

  • Click and drag to draw a circle.

  • Hold Shift while dragging to maintain a perfect circle.

  • Use the Selection Tool (shortcut: V) to position and resize the circle.

  • Adjust the fill and stroke color in the Properties panel. Set the fill to purple.

2. Rectangle:

  • Select the Rectangle Tool from the toolbar (shortcut: M).

1. Spiral:

o Select the Spiral Tool from the toolbar.

o Click and drag to draw a spiral.
